Less than a year ago, Perfect Sense and Grupo Expansión, one of Mexico’s leading media organizations, came together in an effort to modernize Grupo Expansión’s digital platform. In March 2016 the first of 11 properties, Expansión, launched on Brightspot.
Grupo Expansión selected Perfect Sense to help them build a new, consolidated platform. With its many properties utilizing multiple CMS tools, Grupo Expansión aimed to simplify its online presence onto a single platform, ultimately providing an improved and smoother editorial experience.
The partnership with Grupo Expansión was a unique relationship for Perfect Sense. Throughout the project, Perfect Sense’s and Grupo Expansión’s development and operations teams worked side-by-side to build and deploy the final product. Most significantly, Expansión’s launch marked the first time an external partner oversaw a Beam deployment.
Working with a Mexican-based company, Perfect Sense developed a new Brightspot feature—Localization—that allows publishers to choose to view the CMS in either Spanish or English. To meet Grupo Expansión’s needs, the project also required Brightspot to integrate with WoodWing.
In the coming months, Perfect Sense and Grupo Expansión will continue to work collaboratively to migrate additional digital properties to Brightspot. The next launch is Medio Tiempo, Grupo Expansión’s largest and most complex property. With soccer statistics dating back to the 1970s, this sport site has a wealth of information for sports fans around the globe. Throughout 2016 and 2017 additional sites will continue to migrate to Brightspot, ultimately allowing Grupo Expansión to manage its entire digital catalog on a single platform.
