Perfect Sense partners with YMCA to offer "dream camp" scholarship to District youth

For the second consecutive year, Perfect Sense will partner with YMCA Camp Letts to send children from D.C. to overnight summer camp.

In August 2013, Perfect Sense partnered with the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington to send 10 kids to attend a one-week, overnight session at Camp Letts in Edgewater, Maryland. After visiting Camp Letts and reading letters from those who attended, Perfect Sense expanded it's commitment for 2014, establishing the "Dream Camp" scholarship to send 20 children to one-week and two-week camp sessions throughout this upcoming summer.

"Our mission at Camp Letts is simple," said Andrew Mason, Executive Director of YMCA Camp Letts. "We want to give children an opportunity to be kids, to enjoy the outdoors, and to create lasting friendships. The support of Perfect Sense Digital will help expand opportunities to children from Washington, D.C., who will greatly benefit from the opportunity to attend Camp Letts."

On Wednesday, April 16, the Perfect Sense selection committee met to review applications and select the 20 recipients of the "Dream Camp" scholarship. The team of six was inspired by the children's hopes for camp and dreams for their future. Phil Chevalier, a Perfect Sense employee who reviewed the applications reflected, "I have no doubt that these kids stand to gain meaningful skills and formative friendships at the camp, and hope the opportunity is one they look back on with a smile for years to come."

In addition to the Camp Letts scholarships, Perfect Sense regularly provides tickets to Nationals, Capitals, Wizards, Georgetown, and Mystics games to local YMCA branches, helping provide families with an opportunity to spend time together at local sporting events.

Perfect Sense’s commitment to charitable involvement expands far beyond the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington.  The company gives a percent of profits to charity ever year and supports other non-profits that serve people with intellectual disabilities, veterans, domestic abuse victims, and children in need.  “We baked giving back into the fabric of the company from the day it started,” said David Gang, CEO of Perfect Sense Digital.

Over the past twelve months the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington and Perfect Sense have forged a great relationship and one we hope continues to grow in the years to come.
