Matt McConnell

Current role

Matt is an accomplished entrepreneur, leader and corporate executive with more than 28 years of management, business development and consulting experience, specializing in the commercialization of new technology and driving growth for an organization. He was most recently the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Comcast Technology Solutions, a division of Comcast Cable that he established and managed from 2012-2018, which offered third-party businesses access to services and technologies primarily developed and proven within Comcast.

Matt currently serves as an adjunct professor in the graduate school of the University of Denver, as a Board Director for Extreme Reach and as a Board Director and member of the Executive Committee for Junior Achievement.

Professional accomplishments

Prior to Comcast, Matt was the co-founder and CEO of Boulder-based Troppus Software Corporation, which was acquired by Echostar Corporation in early 2011 as a wholly-owned subsidiary focused on providing customer care products and services directly to consumers. He also served as Executive Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Strategy for NextAction/DataLogix (acquired by Oracle in January of 2015), where he was responsible for all of the firm's new revenue and operating plans. Prior to that, Matt was Senior Vice President of Product Management for Level 3 Communications, Inc. He also held various executive roles at AOL, as well as strategic consulting positions at Booz Allen Hamilton, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.

Matt holds a B.S. cum laude in Finance and Management Information Systems from Boston College and an MBA from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.

Interests

In his free time, Matt is often on a soccer field watching his son and daughter. An avid traveler who loves hiking the Colorado mountains, Matt hopes to visit all of the U.S. National Parks—and he's already halfway there. The Pittsburgh native enjoys rooting on his hometown Steelers, Penguins and Pirates.
